Parking in Lyon in August: where to park for free?

Fasten your seatbelt: for the whole of August, on-street parking in Lyon will be free for all in almost 41,000 spaces. But which ones? For free parking, visit in Vieux-Lyon, Croix-Rousse, the south of the Presqu’île, Puvis de Chavannes, Les Brotteaux, Bellecombe, Monplaisir and La Part-Dieu (see map .
While the city’s main districts are free of charge, there are still 6240 paid parking spaces in the city, notably in the Presqu’île area. So avoid the 1st arrondissement, most of the 2nd and certain streets in Vieux Lyon, Vaise and Croix-Rousse. Finally, central roads such as Cours Lafayette, Gambetta, Vitton and Avenue du Maréchal Foch will also be subject to a fee.
