Swap the urban pace of Lyon in the early afternoon and find yourself, two and a half hours later, facing the Mont Blanc massif: the escape is as quick as it is spectacular. While the Les Arcs ski area naturally draws visitors with the vastness of its slopes, the village of Le Charvet embodies the very soul of Arc 1800, even offering a unique après-ski experience with its candlelit concerts at the summit.
Nicknamed the resort’s “hyperactive” area, Arc 1800 is the perfect place to recharge your batteries. Beyond the resort’s major runs, the Charvet sector pulses with the rhythm of authentic pedestrian village life.
Shops, terrace breaks, bowling, or walks: everything comes together at every turn. And to end the day on a high note, the plaza offers one of the valley’s most beautiful spectacles: a magnificent sunset setting the Tarentaise and Mont Blanc ablaze.

Between activities, Le Charvet is also worth visiting as a masterpiece of modern design. Opened in the late 1960s, the village bears the signature of the famous architect Charlotte Perriand. Designed to blend into the hillside without disrupting the landscape, the resort emphasizes clean lines that are fully integrated with the mountain.
At the heart of this architectural complex, the Bernard Taillefer Center pays tribute to one of the resort’s key designers. An essential gathering place in Arc 1800, this 1,100 m² modular event space is bathed in natural light thanks to its immense floor-to-ceiling window opening directly onto Mont Blanc.
Designed for everything from large-scale events such as conventions and gala evenings to more intimate gatherings, it features a spacious 700 m² hall, a telescopic grandstand, and an exhibition hall equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.
And it is precisely in this setting that the cultural highlight of your stay comes to life: the Bernard Taillefer Center, located in the heart of Charvet, occasionally hosts candlelight concerts. As night falls, these musical performances, held by the light of hundreds of candles, add an intimate and poetic touch to the après-ski experience.
