2. The Court of Miracles
La Cour des Miracles is a verdant setting (with a pétanque court, if you please!) hidden just a stone’s throw from Vaise station. Let’s leave appearances at the door: we come here to share a few tapas with friends.

3. Café Gadagne
Probably our favorite: the discreet Café Gadagne is a sumptuous restaurant nestled between the rocky arcades and Roman passageways of the famous Musées Gadagne (Vieux-Lyon). Sunday brunch or a tasty bistronomic menu during the week.

4. The Muses
If we had to tell you about one of our favorite panoramic spots in Lyon, we’d have no hesitation in telling you about bar-terrasse Les Muses, perched away from the glare and noise of the city, on the seventh floor of the magnificent Opéra de Lyon. Here, time seems to stand still, and the taste experience matches the breathtaking view.

5. La Barge
Granted, La Barge’s terrace isn’t the most hidden (let alone secret!), but its perfect position on the gentle waves of the Rhône, moored on the Quai du Général Sarrail, lends it a relentless charm and poetry. Somewhat sheltered from the noise of the surrounding boulevards, it’s a must-see at sunset.

6. Au Bord de l’Eau
Like La Barge on the Rhône, the Au Bord de l’Eau restaurant will thrill you to the sound of the gentle waves of the Réservoir du Grand-Large, in Décines. Its huge terrace with its feet in the lake (you might even see swans!) offers a well-deserved break from the hustle and bustle of the city, with a taste for seasonal cuisine and traditional dishes.

7. Le Lounge (Warwick Reine Astrid)
As well as being just a stone’s throw from the magnificent Parc de la Tête d’Or, the Warwick Reine Astrid hotel boasts a pretty interior garden and a hidden terrace ideal for relaxing before returning to the rhythm of the city. The welcome is warm and friendly, and the menu, for such a high-class establishment, is very reasonably priced.

8. Chez Lucien
Colors on every side, ivy in abundance, flowers galore… we’re not in Provence, and yet Lucien’s bright, verdant terrace at his Croix-Roussien restaurant exudes a soothing, almost comforting calm. Come with friends to sample its succulent bistronomic cuisine.

9. Monplaisir Côté Cour
Monplaisir Côté Cour isn’t just another address in Lyon’s eighth arrondissement, it’s a veritable institution. Its gigantic, cosy veranda and assertive retro-urban style will undoubtedly catch your eye, while its hearty family Sunday brunch will delight your taste buds.

10. Rooftop Têtedoie
Formerly Les Terrasses de l’Antiquaille, this discreet spot on the Fourvière hill has taken on a new name: the Rooftop Têtedoie. In the Antiquaille district, this terrace with an exceptional view overlooks Lyon with its wood-panelled floors and soft canvases providing protection from the sun. An absolute must to admire the mountains in the distance from one of Lyon’s finest terraces.

14. Le 10 Cour
The large, soundproof inner courtyard of the Le 10 Cour restaurant is a haven of peace in the immediate vicinity of the Part-Dieu train station. This precious calm in the city center is added to an ephemeral menu of dishes that change with the seasons. All the more reason to (re)come!

15. Victoria Hall
The Victoria Hall terrace is undoubtedly one of the largest terraces you’ll find in this ranking. Just a stone’s throw from Parc Sergent Blandan, the Victoria Hall offers delicious, well-crafted dishes in a chic setting shaded by olive trees. This is one of Lyon’s most highly recommended gastronomic addresses.

16. Le Moment
With its large, noise-free terrace, leafy walls and delicious dishes, we can’t recommend the atypical (almost village-like) setting of Le Moment, located near the Gare de Vaise. If you’d like to try our fine, tasty cuisine, don’t hesitate to try our steamed cod or yellowfin tuna with homemade foccacia. Unquestionably one of Lyon’s best terraces!
