Without even mentioning Christmas lights, let’s face it… we’re heading into the off-season, and while it’s always time to take a stroll in one of the villages around Lyon, it’s also time for the exhibition season. And in this calendar, here’s one that’s right on time. At the beginning of October, Lyon is in for a very special tête-à-tête…
With Philippe Geluck’s famous Cat
We receive him as a comic strip for Christmas, as a card on our birthdays, copied a thousand times by students on the edge of a notebook in math class, followed by thousands of people on social networks: he’s been an integral part of our popular culture since 1983. Albums, special editions, TV appearances… his CV is impressive! What’s certain is that the supposed nine lives of a cat wouldn’t be enough to fill even one-ninth of that of our mascot. But what really catches our attention is his trademark sense of humor, the famous paw that has marked our daily lives for over 40 years now.
A feline…. in the lion’s cage!

To talk about a cat in Lyon, what a feat! The exhibition will be held at the Galerie Estades, right in the heart of the Presqu’île. Over 300 m2, you’ll be able to admire the Cat from every angle: sculptures, silkscreens and, of course, paintings. Philippe Geluck will even grace the opening with his presence on Saturday, October 4.

But this isn’t the first time Le Chat has been on the road! As part of his “Le Chat Déambule” exhibition, he has been seen in the form of bronze sculptures in Paris, Bordeaux, Monaco, Geneva and Montreux, already attracting over 6 million visitors… Now it’s Lyon’s turn to enjoy it until March 2026!
