For two days, Place Antonin Poncet will be transformed into a veritable temple of indulgence. Between cooking shows, tastings, and demonstrations, the best talents—both amateurs and professionals—will compete in creativity and technique before an exceptional jury and the Lyon public. Chaired by Lyon-based chef Fabrice Bonnot and sponsored by Valérie Trierweiler, the event promises to be a spectacular show.
And a major new feature this year: on April 16 and 17, the competition will open up even further to the public with exclusive masterclasses . Companies, schools, or simply food enthusiasts will be able to put on their aprons and try their hand at making their own flan pâtissier. A perfect opportunity to learn, share, and above all… enjoy a delicious treat.
A competition for all skill levels

Saturday, April 18 ,will be entirely dedicated to amateurs from all over France. Passionate beginners, young talents, or creative minds: everyone will have the chance to compete in different categories. All participants must adhere to the traditional rules of the flan pâtissier while adding their own personal touch. The creations will be judged according to specific criteria : taste and balance, texture, baking, presentation, and originality. Suffice it to say that the competition promises to be as demanding as it is delicious.
On Sunday, April 19, it’s time to get down to business with apprentices and professional pastry chefs, notably in collaboration with the École Hôtelière de Bellegarde. This category will highlight innovation and creativity, while paying homage to this great classic of French pastry. At the end of the day, a single candidate will walk away with the prestigious title of Best Pastry Flan in France.
Open to the public from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. throughout the weekend, the competition promises a warm and delicious atmosphere.
