Calling all Harry Potter™ fans and lovers of extraordinary places—in Lyon, there’s a spot where magic feels almost real. With its spectacular architecture and timeless atmosphere, this restaurant nestled within one of the city’s iconic landmarks offers an experience that’s strangely reminiscent of dinners at the famous school of witchcraft and wizardry. And the best part? You don’t need an acceptance letter to get in!
A Lyon-style Great Hall in the heart of the Grand Hôtel-Dieu

It’s hard not to think of Hogwarts when stepping through the doors of the Grand Réfectoire, located right in the heart of the Grand Hôtel-Dieu, where this place makes an impression from the very first glance. Formerly the refectory of the Sisters of Charity, it retains a timeless atmosphere, with its majestic vaults and imposing stained-glass window that instantly bring to mind the legendary Great Hall of Hogwarts. In this 342-square-meter space, every detail seems to tell a story; the building bears witness to over 250 years of Lyon’s history and now stands out as an almost cinematic setting. From Tuesday through Friday at lunchtime, the restaurant also offers a three-course menu for €26, a set menu that allows guests to discover the venue in a more accessible format without compromising on the quality of the experience.
A culinary experience worthy of a wizarding feast

While the decor immediately evokes Hogwarts, the food is no less impressive. At the helm, two-Michelin-starred chef Marcel Ravin offers precise and inventive bistronomic cuisine, recognized with a plate in the Michelin Guide and the title of Maître Restaurateur.
Here, there are no spells or cauldrons, but a genuine focus on ingredients and pairings, in a setting that lends the dining experience a special atmosphere. Between the impressive scale of the room, the light filtering through the stained-glass windows, and the calm that settles in once you’re seated, the moment easily takes on the air of a grand banquet.
