Time and again cited as the star of Lyonnais gastronomy, the praline was due to have its moment of glory where it would be (even more) the center of attention. And so it is, with the 3rd edition of the Mondial de la praline taking place from February 13.
Who will be “Praline d’Or” in 2025?
As in previous years, the final will take place at the Château de Sans Souci in Limonest. The winner will be chosen from all the creations on offer, from traditional tarts to brioche and galettes. On the program: several candidates selected in 3 categories will be judged by a prestigious jury.

Like last year, Le Petit Marché Rose will also be open and free to all. You’ll find a host of gourmet creations. Of course, you’ll also be able to taste the various artistic creations.
A long-standing specialty
Praline has acquired its letters of nobility over the years. It’s known the world over in a variety of forms, but in Lyon it’s the little pink praline that’s our favorite. Made from almonds coated in sugar and pink coloring, it’s the perfect embodiment of local tradition. The origins of the praline are lost in history, and many regions claim paternity. Whatever the case, it was in the XVIIIᵉ century that the Lyonnaise praline, as we know it today, was born.
