It puts art and pop culture fans in agreement wherever it goes. After being named “one of the ten major exhibitions in the world, not to be missed under any circumstances” by CNN and various national media in 2015, and winning over the crowds in Paris, The Art of The Brick has now come to Lyon. Much to our delight, it has taken over the Hôtel-Dieu. Ticketing is officially open and, as in Paris, the exhibition is a success!
🎁The exhibition closes on February 15! In the meantime, the experience offers you 25% off ticket prices with the code ADIEU25LYON, and 15% off merchandising!🎁
The Art of the Brick has laid its bricks in Lyon
This fabulous exhibition features over 70 sculptures made from tiny LEGO® bricks. Over a million pieces have been used.Nathan Sawaya , a former business lawyer who has become the world’s number 1 Brick Artist, has succeeded in giving a new lease of life to this building set, which has seduced generations.
Among the incredible pieces on display are an impressive 6-metre-long T-Rex dinosaur, a larger-than-life violin, a life-size reproduction of the north rose window of Chartres Cathedral, a sphinx, Roman temples and much more. These are just some of the artist’s original sculptures for young and old to discover.
Art lovers won’t be disappointed either: the collection features LEGO® versions of masterpieces such as Van Gogh’s Starry Night, Venus de Milo, Klimt’s Kiss, Edvard Munch’s Scream, Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl and many other major works of art. And where there’s LEGO®, there’s practice. The youngest visitors can express their creativity in the play area provided, and create their own work of art in LEGO® pieces. And we can’t wait to be impressed by their creations.
Already visited by over 10 million people, The Art of The Brick is already one of the most visited exhibitions of the season in Lyon. So what are you waiting for? Let your imagination run wild and get to grips with LEGO® art!
