This year, Lyon’s 28th Marche des Fiertés will be held on Saturday June 8, 2024. Organized by the Collectif Fiertés en Lutte, this day aims to promote the visibility and rights of queer people (and human rights in general, for that matter). Lyon is no stranger to festive events, with over 14,000 people taking to the streets last year. Highlights, schedule and program: here’s what’s in store for the 2024 Lyon Pride March!
The Lyon Pride March: the 2024 Program
” Violent system, oppressive system, progressive response, collective struggle! is the slogan of this year’s Marche des Fiertés. By taking advantage of Gay Pride 2024 to highlight various human rights issues around the world, Lyon’s Fiertés en Lutte collective aims to be intersectional, advocating solidarity that transcends borders.
Date, time and place
To join the movement and celebrate the colors of the LGBTQIA+ flag (unfortunately under the clouds, given the weather forecast), meet at 1pm at the Manufacture des Tabacs. Initially scheduled to start from the Parc de la Tête d’Or, the route has been modified for safety reasons.
The walk will last until around 5pm (direction Cours Gambetta, Guillotière to admire the new rainbow crosswalks quai Claude Bernard, avenue Berthelot and rue Garibaldi) and will end at parc Sergent Blandan in the 7th arrondissement. A free, collective and committed little work out that we couldn’t refuse, could we?
At the finish point, a community village will be set up from 5pm to 7pm. It will enable“various associations to set up stands, and thus raise their profile, welcome people and explain their activities“, explains the City ofLyon. Can we find our way around?
