Joe Hisaishi’s music occupies a central place in Studio Ghibli’s identity. This concertpays ambitious tribute to it, revisiting the soundtracks of Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, and Howl’s Moving Castle.
Under the direction of conductor Aurélien Azan Zielinski, the scores take on a new dimension. The orchestration, performed by an impressive ensemble, allows these cult works to be rediscovered with power and finesse. At the helm of this exceptional evening is the Yellow Socks Orchestra & Choir, a French symphony orchestra renowned for its expertise in film music. Accustomed to major successful tours—notably those dedicated to Hans Zimmer and John Williams, which will be completed in 2025—the ensemble promises an experience that will live up to expectations.
