Vogue des Marrons 2024: the most eagerly awaited family event of the year returns to Croix-Rousse
From October 5 to November 11, 2023, rides, roller coasters, bumper cars and other activities for the whole family will take place in the Croix-Rousse district! Open every day except Thursday, it ends at 9 p.m., except on Saturday, when the fairground goes into overtime! You’ll be able to enjoy the attractions and sweet stalls until 11pm. As every year, you’ll find delicious sweets for young and old alike (chestnuts, churros, candy apples…), thrill rides, a ghost train, plush toys, cotton candy and classic duck fishing.
As traditional and renowned as the famous traboules or bouchons, the Vogue des Marrons has been a fixture on the Croix-Roussien plateau for over 150 years. And that’s just the beginning! “Held every year on the Croix-Rousse plateau for around a month between October and November, it is the last vogue of the year, and spreads out over a good part of the Boulevard de la Croix-Rousse, the whole of the Place de la Croix-Rousse and the Place des Tapis, and blocks the exit from the rue Terme tunnel. The first chestnuts of the year can be enjoyed here,” explains the website.
