It is one of 75 new restaurants to receive the Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction this year, which recognizes establishments that put as much effort into delighting the palate as they do into not breaking the bank. Here, you can eat well at a fair price: the dish of the day is €19 and the menu is €26; expect to pay €35 in the evening. But beyond the food and the bill, people also come for the atmosphere, which is priceless.
La Meunière, Bib Gourmand 2026!

Welcome to this place that might make you regret not having been here before. In any case, that’s what the world’s most prestigious culinary guide must have said this year. At La Meunière, you peruse the menu with the guilty pleasure of wanting to try everything. Sapeur apron, pike quenelle, veal kidneys… The menu isn’t huge, but it guarantees cuisine that is masterfully controlled. The establishment is run by Olivier Canal, an outstanding chef and president of the Bouchons Lyonnais, as well as his alter ego in the dining room, Annick Roman. Together, they carry the conviviality of Lyon’s cuisine on their shoulders. It’s a heavy burden, but they are more than up to the task!
The interior is both vintage and warm. You eat from tableware from another era while admiring the floral and original decoration on the walls. What can we say about this wall of old pots and pans or the XXL “Pétard de comptoir” poster referring to the Beaujolais wine on the menu? A decidedly “Tontons Flingueurs” atmosphere that leaves no one indifferent. Excellent! Add to that social media communication as well-crafted as a good roast, and you have one of the best places in Lyon, without a doubt.
The art of “mâchonner”

Who said that in 2026, brunch and trendy pistachio bars were the only options for breakfast? In any case, that’s not the view at La Meunière. Here, people are munching away all the time! From Tuesday to Saturday from 9 a.m., come and try Lyon’s timeless and unmissable mâchon, with some dishes simmered and others au gratin… It’s well worth swapping your pajamas and pillow for a pâté en croûte and a glass of Beaujolais, isn’t it? The mâchon is definitely a specialty that you have to try at least once in your life, and this is one of the best places to do so.
As you can see, here you eat Lyon, you breathe Lyon, you drink Lyon… it’s a kind of catapult that celebrates the capital of gastronomy with great pomp and circumstance. The only problem? The place is so local that it would be difficult to export. Too bad for the others (and good for us!)
