Eating in a bouchon remains a pleasure for all Lyonnais. The red-and-white-checkered tablecloth, the aproned chef or patronne behind the counter, the wooden chairs, the close-knit tables, the pots and pans on the wall… the bouchon is a world unto itself that’s impossible to bottle (even with “ifs”). Without even mentioning its cuisine, the bouchon already makes our mouths water. Try doing the same thing with a pizzeria or a sushi bar: you won’t succeed. So let’s be proud of our gastronomy and celebrate as many times as we can … “Bon appétit et large soif”!

Le Bouchon Alsacien
It’s a small revolution in the world of local gastronomy. Le Bouchon Alsacien, as its name suggests, pays homage to Alsatian sauerkraut and charcuterie rather than Lyon’s quenelles and praline tart. Be that as it may, the place has only just opened, and it’s already a success. It’s easy to see why, when you know that behind the stoves is, among others, Jacky Gallman, Alsatian by birth and former manager of the legendary Brasserie Georges.
