And since there’s still plenty of room, we’ll even throw in a side dish and/or dessert! The perfect place to treat yourself, and for a low price!

Le Penjab
Although the menus at Le Penjab are over €15 (€20 for the menu Évasion or €18 for vegetarian), you won’t need to pay more than €12-13 to enjoy a pretty dish typical of Indian cuisine at this charming restaurant at the entrance to Vieux-Lyon. Beef massala, kofta curry, chicken tikka massala are all around 9.90€-12.50€.

Best Bagels
In business since 2004, the Best Bagels Company has six restaurants in Lyon. As the name suggests, the company’s star item, the bagel (an American sandwich filled and hollowed out in the shape of a ring), is served with tuna, chicken, ham, avocado, fresh goat’s cheese, smoked salmon, bacon… and can be enjoyed on a menu for an average of €7-9 with a side dish and drink.
La Broche
La Broche is one of our favorite kebab places in Lyon. Located near Les Terreaux and in Rue de Marseille, they offer five different menus at €10.90-€12.50, featuring kebab, plate with fries, poutine or vegetarian dishes.

Le Marélie, the inexpensive crêpe
After Alsace, let’s head for Brittany! At Le Marélie, crispy crêpes and smoky buckwheat pancakes take their place on your plate… For just €13.90 at lunchtime from Monday to Friday, you can choose from a selection of three galettes of the moment (or the gratin de ravioles, miam) accompanied by a sweet crêpe or a creamy fromage blanc with red fruit coulis.

Mika Sushi
Mika Sushi offers three Japanese restaurants where you can enjoy the crème de la crème of sushi. Their succulent dishes can be ordered à la carte, but it’s their bowl menu (bowl + drink + 6 sushi) and noodle menu (noodle dish + drink + 6 sushi) at €14.90 that best fit our budget.

Bentomania Honten
“Bento”, which means “practical” in Japanese, is a complete individual meal traditional to Japanese culture, ready to eat, generally made up of raw vegetables, rice, meat, fish… and presented in the form of a compartmentalized box. Bentomania’s Teishoku menu takes up this formula, offering hors d’oeuvres + main course + rice or udon + soup for just €13.90-14.90 (€15.90 with salmon).

Cantine La Grenade, cheap Byzantine and Mediterranean cuisine
If there’s one restaurant we love at Lyon Secret, it’s La Grenade. Incredible mezze platters, a tastefully-decorated space and ridiculously low prices for the quality of the dishes on offer. Here, you’re sure to eat well, and cheaply. For example, the incredible lamb shred pastilla or the salmon gravlax with beet are €15! Right in our budget!

Yummy Pancakes
What if, for 15 euros, we mixed sweet and savory? Classic pancakes with maple syrup, salted butter caramel, peanut butter, banana-chocolate, pecan, blueberry-white cheese pancakes, or comté-white ham, avocado-goat or cheddar-bacon pancakes… at €4.5-9 a pancake, you might as well treat yourself!
