What the Festi Lumière festival has to offer is almost unbelievable. Festi Lumière, the new must-attend event for film lovers
Want to end July on a high note? Well, here you go—and on a silver platter, no less. Because what the Festi Lumière festival has to offer for its first edition is truly remarkable. Already spoiled by the Cinéma du Vieux Lyon Festival and Cinéma sous les étoiles, the people of Lyon are going to be over the moon.
In an exceptional setting right in the heart of our beautiful Beaujolais region, the Château de Bellevue—which has never been more aptly named—will be the venue for three days of festivities celebrating cinema, invented in Lyon 131 years ago. Although both were born in Besançon, it was in the capital of Gaul that Louis and Auguste perfected the cinematograph, before capturing a factory exitthat has since gone down in history.
A 5-star lineup centered on three masterpieces of the silver screen
The festival kicks off this Thursday, July 23, with a screening of Billy Wilder’s legendary *Some Like It Hot *. A timeless masterpiece in which Marilyn Monroe is at the peak of her artistry. The rest of the program promises some great moments:
- Friday, July 24: It’s time for one of Pedro Almodóvar’s greatest comedies, *Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown*, starring a young Antonio Banderas and Rossy de Palma. Simply divine.
- Saturday, July 25: The festival will close with Peter Farrelly’s *Green Book*, winner of the 2019 Oscar for Best Picture, already considered a modern classic.
Beyond this exceptional program, no effort will be spared to ensure an unforgettable experience. The festival will organize a wine tasting for adult participants, courtesy of the Loron estates. Attendees will also be able to enjoy on-site dining with several meal options, all while enjoying access to the park.
