We know more about what is set to be a turning point in Lyon’s transformation towards a more environmentally-friendly city. After the limited-traffic zone on the Presqu’île, the pedestrianization and greening of certain major roads, it was time to tackle one of the city’s landmarks: the Parc de la Tête d’Or. In this green setting, Lyon’s residents will soon be able to enjoy a unique site that is sure to arouse their curiosity.
A project supported by Yann Arthus Bertrand’s Good Planet Foundation

Located in one of the park’s most emblematic and peaceful corners, the site is already a symbol in itself. Its transformation, however, was the subject of lengthy discussions in response to a call for tenders issued by the city of Lyon. From November 2022, the Good Planet foundation, headed by its president Yann Arthus Bertrand, has been entrusted with the keys to bringing the site up to date. As part of the equation, Good Planet has joined forces with Maison Gutenberg and Fabuleuse Cantine to renovate the site with a triple focus on ecology, sustainable food and art.
Mark your calendars, scheduled to open in 2026.

Work has already begun, and despite delays, the desire to build a building with a low carbon impact remains. The 1740 m² will be divided into three distinct sections. The cultural part will occupy 550 m², including an exhibition space. Conference and work spaces will cover 440 m². Finally, the 200-cover “antigaspi” restaurant will occupy 600 m², with an ecological approach that extends right down to the plate. An observatory will also be set up on the roof, allowing visitors to observe the surrounding nature.
Awareness-raising will be the keystone of this new venue. Workshops, exhibitions, festivals and corporate seminars will punctuate the Chalet du Parc’s agenda. It’s not just a place to visit, but a place to experience. Everything is designed to raise awareness among young and old of the major issues of tomorrow. Free of charge and designed for everyone, the building has everything it takes to appeal to the whole of Lyon.
