Cycling in the city is the winning alternative in every respect. Faster than a bus, less polluting than a car, much more stylish than an electric scooter and, above all, healthier than any other means of transport, the bicycle is a rolling affair. And because it’s high time to sculpt your summer body, you won’t find a better way to get your butt in shape. With the new Velo’v fleet and this help, you’ve got no choice but to pedal. Get moving!
What do I need to do to be able to show off on my two-wheeler?
This year, we’re renewing our assistance scheme for the purchase of a new or second-hand bike, and it’s a big help. So why not make the most of it? So let’s start by finding out which frames are eligible for assistance. Several bikes are eligible:
- Electric bikes: folding bikes, cargo bikes, electric-assist bikes. Bikes adapted for people with reduced mobility are also included.
- Mechanical bikes: cargo bikes, folding bikes and reconditioned bikes.
You must buy your bike from a retailer or distributor in mainland France. As for conditions, you must live in one of the 58 communes of the Métropole and have a tax income of less than €26,200. The amount of assistance varies according to your situation and the type of bike you are going to buy. Last year, the average grant was €486. That’s a lot of bike!
Since 2022 and the introduction of assistance for the purchase of a bicycle, 9351 requests for assistance have been financed for an average of 375€.
