Beaujol’en Scène, celebrating Beaujolais Nouveau in the heart of Lyon
With Beaujol’en Scène, the Jeunes Agriculteurs du Rhône invite you to celebrate the arrival of Beaujolais Nouveau right in the heart of Lyon, on Place des Terreaux. More than ever, farmers need our support, and what better way to give them a helping hand than by coming along to taste the local nectar! The highlight of the show? At around 11:30 pm, the barrels will be transported by barge down the Saône, before the traditional torchlight procession in the presence of the Mayor of Lyon, Grégory Doucet.
Then, at the stroke of midnight, it’s time for the legendary barrel roll and the long-awaited tasting of Beaujolais Nouveau!

Enjoy Beaujolais Nouveau in one of Lyon’s many tasty bouchons.

Bouchon, Beaujolais… these are words that smell like the real Lyon! It’s not for nothing that “le Pot Beaujolais” is featured on the famous Fresque des Lyonnais. Like the Fête des Lumières, Lyon’s gastronomy and its love of Beaujolais wines are inextricably linked. The arrival of Beaujolais Nouveau every year is always a great excuse to go and eat at a bouchon with friends or family. And why not (re)try the Lyon tradition of Mâchon this year? À bon entendeur…
