One of the greatest DJs on the current scene is setting up his turntables in the center of an iconic monument of our heritage, for one night only. We’re lost for words… and that’s normal because it’s never been done before. So we’ll try, like you, to close our eyes and imagine this moment. And since good things never come alone, and in case you hadn’t noticed, May 8 is a public holiday, and this year it falls on a Friday: the perfect start to the craziest weekend of the year.
When history meets legend: Black Coffee’s unique orchestral show in Europe

No, you’re not dreaming, or at least you’re dreaming with your eyes open, just like us. Black Coffee, yes, one of the most talented DJs of his generation, is coming to give an unprecedented performance at the Arènes de Nîmes. After performing at Madison Square Garden, Coachella, Tomorrowland , and other venues, it’s hard for the South African DJ to find a new feather to add to his cap. But the Arènes de Nîmes is not to be refused. David Bowie, Daft Punk, Muse, Justice, Metallica, and Johnny Hallyday: all the greatest legends have graced the stage of the Arènes.
For May 8, we’re pulling out all the stops. Imagine: a 360° stage for a 7-hour Afro-house symphony in front of no less than 14,000 people. The best of electro with the power of a symphony: Black Coffee will be accompanied by a live orchestra. The result promises to be as visual as it is auditory. And to add even more legend to this event: Black Coffee hasn’t performed in France for three years… so it’s now or never.
A historic event in an iconic setting: the Arena of Nîmes, the best-preserved colosseum in the world.

It’s not in Rome or Verona that you can see the most beautiful stones from the Roman era, but in Nîmes! Even though we in Lyon have nothing to be ashamed of, the Arènes de Nîmes are something else entirely…
We know that construction began in 90 AD, which places the building at the dawn of our history. Its architecture, its history, its state of preservation, its acoustics… quite simply, there is nothing else like it in the world. On May 8, a new page in the history of the Arena will be written, and not just any page. It’s up to you to decide if you want to be part of it…
