Swimsuits ready, bikes oiled… There’s no doubt about it, spring is here! But summer is just around the corner, and we might as well get a head start on the program. Swimming, sailing, windsurfing, athletics, rowing… that’s the morning program. Volleyball, badminton, baseball, basketball, BMX, canoeing, pole dancing, karate, archery for the afternoon… A program that should calm the ardor of your wild beasts at home. Indeed, the Metropole de Lyon is back in force this year with this veritable panoply of activities from July 7 to August 8, 2025.
Three, two, one… go!
Since Les Bleus’ victory in the 6 Nations tournament this winter, the youngest child wants to take up rugby, and the current fervor of Roland Garros is awakening the older child’s desire to kick a ball around. It’s not easy to coordinate all this… Why not try it out during the upcoming summer vacations? That’s what the Metropole de Lyon is proposing in its MVS (Métropole Vacances Sportives) program for all young people aged 3 to 18. The idea is simple: to introduce youngsters to activities other than soccer, swimming or dance , free of charge, via a whole range of unusual and fun sports. In all, some twenty activities are on offer.
How to take part in this summer’s sports vacations in Lyon

Some activities are accessible to young people with disabilities, so that everyone can take advantage of this fantastic opportunity. The program has been running since 2021, enabling thousands of young people every year to enjoy a unique sporting activity… In 2024, 38,500 children took part in one of the 120 activities on offer. So, get moving!
