The Lyon Street Food Festival kicks off its 5-day marathon on what promises to be the hottest day of the year in Lyon, according to Météo France. Coincidence? Not really. The excitement of the preparations and the anticipation of the festivities have naturally raised the mercury throughout the city, and it’s easy to see why. Indeed, there are countless superlatives to describe Lyon Street Food, which over the years has established itself as one of the most important gatherings in France for all street food and cuisine enthusiasts in general. Last year, 52,000 festival-goers flocked to the Grandes Locos, and we’re expecting even more in a few days’ time… The perfect way to round off June in style.
A finger-licking program

They say appetite comes with eating… But we’d still advise you to fast a few days beforehand. Over 120 Michelin-starred chefs will be taking turns preparing hundreds and hundreds of new recipes for thousands and thousands of people over the 5 days of the festival.
François Régis Gaudry, Justine Piluso, Philippe Etchebest, Pierre Sang and Florent Ladeyn are just some of the 130 chefs who will be in the aisles at Grandes Locos.
This year, the focus is on Brazil and Ireland! A double destination as unlikely as it is tantalizing. The Festival will also give pride of place to French street food, particularly from Lyon, which is enjoying unprecedented growth this year.
With kid-friendly workshops, break dancing, live painting, talks, unique concerts and even a samba show… the Festival is pulling out all the stops this year!

Yum yum, yes, but also boom boom! The Lyon Street Food Festival not only delights our stomachs, but also our ears. This year, Molécule, FFF, Chef and the Gang (with Philippe Etchebest on drums) and Kiddy Smile will be on stage to put on a show. Once again this year, the Ninkasi Music Lab will be working miracles with its eclectic line-up of talent. Rock, electro, soul and more.
But the Festival is also an opportunity to take part in the famous Street Food Stories. A whole series of talks over the 5 days that turn into exciting exchanges. This year, the format will give way to the recording of 20 live podcast episodes! And there’s more than enough to keep us salivating…
Getting there by public transport couldn’t be easier. Metro line B and bus lines 11, 12, 14, 17 and 88 will take you to the Gare d’Oullins. The site is located nearby. Don’t forget to bring your ticket to get inside. Bon festival, bon appétit and bon dégustation!
